- The _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w program displays _d_i_t_r_o_f_f output on an X
- display. It uses no special metrics and automatically
- converts the printer coordinates into screen coordinates;
- using the user-specified screen resolution, rather than the
- actual resolution so that the appropriate fonts can be
- found. If ``----'' is given as the _f_i_l_e_n_a_m_e, _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w reads
- from standard input. If ``||||'' is the first character of
- _f_i_l_e_n_a_m_e, _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w forks _s_h to run the rest of the ``file
- name'' and uses the standard output of that command.
-
- OOOOPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNNSSSS
- _X_d_i_t_v_i_e_w accepts all of the standard X Toolkit command line
- options along with the additional options listed below:
-
- ----ppppaaaaggggeeee _p_a_g_e-_n_u_m_b_e_r
- This option specifies the page number of the
- document to be displayed at start up time.
-
- ----rrrreeeessssoooolllluuuuttttiiiioooonnnn _s_c_r_e_e_n-_r_e_s_o_l_u_t_i_o_n
- This specifies the desired screen resolution to use;
- fonts will be opened by requesting this resolution
- field in the XLFD names.
-
- ----nnnnooooPPPPoooollllyyyyTTTTeeeexxxxtttt
- Some X servers incorrectly implement PolyText with
- multiple strings per request. This option suppesses
- the use of this feature in _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w.
-
- ----bbbbaaaacccckkkkiiiinnnnggggSSSSttttoooorrrreeee _b_a_c_k_i_n_g-_s_t_o_r_e-_t_y_p_e
- Redisplay can take up to a second or so; this option
- causes the server to save the window contents so
- that when it is scrolled around the viewport, the
- window is painted from contents saved in backing
- store. _b_a_c_k_i_n_g-_s_t_o_r_e-_t_y_p_e can be one of AAAAllllwwwwaaaayyyyssss,

-
- ----bbbbgggg _c_o_l_o_r
- This option specifies the color to use for the
- background of the window. The default is _w_h_i_t_e.

- This option specifies the width in pixels of the
- border surrounding the window.

- ----ffffgggg _c_o_l_o_r
- This option specifies the color to use for
- displaying text. The default is _b_l_a_c_k.

- This option specifies the font to be used for
- displaying widget text. The default is _f_i_x_e_d.

- This option specifies the X server to contact.

- You can use any ditroff output file with _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w, although
- files which use the fonts appropriate to the fontMap will
- look more accurate on the screen. On servers which support
- scaled fonts, all requested font sizes will be accurately
- reflected on the screen; for servers which do not support
- scaled _x_d_i_t_v_i_e_w will use the closest font from the same
- family.
